Musical Assistant of BYC Children’s Choir West. Leader of the Tenor Section
Relevant Experience:
I have been a member of Barnsley Youth Choir for 5 years, joining back in 2013.
During my time with the choir, I have had the honour to represent Barnsley and Great Britain on the international stage in a variety of different performances. These include competing in the World Choir Games Riga 2014, and the European Choir Games Magdeburg 2015, where we were awarded gold medals and first place in the Pop & Jazz and Gospel & Spiritual categories. We went on to defend these European titles at the European Choir Games Riga 2017, as well as winning the Grand Prix of Nations on each occasion. Away from the choir's competitive singing ventures, I have performed at the world famous Edinburgh Fringe Festival on two separate tours with BYC in 2016 and 2018.
I have also had the privilege to take part in performances and work with some world renowned choirs while being a part of the choir. These include the Aurin and Miraculum Girls Choir from Kecskemet, Hungary and the Adolf Fredriks Choir from Stockholm, Sweden.
I am currently studying at Leeds College of Music Conservatoire in my third and final year to graduate with a BA (Hons) Popular Music Performance Degree, majoring in vocals as my main instrument of study.
I am an active gigging singer-songwriter performing interpretive covers as well as my own original music, both as a solo artist and with larger ensembles at a vast variety of events. I am also a member of the Leeds Contemporary Pop Choir and LCOM SU Chorus, with whom I have performed alongside Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and Leeds Philharmonic Chorus.
