We are excited to launch our second partnership programme offering free singing workshops to Primary Schools in Barnsley. These workshops will be led by highly skilled and talented leaders and will be engaging and fun. We will also provide resources to go with the sessions that we hope will be useful. The resources include a booklet with songs, warm-ups and guidance and supporting videos and audio tracks for use in schools.
The programme will offer schools a free 45-minute workshop and will focus on children in years 2-5. Beyond this workshop BYC practitioners will meet with music coordinator to understand the needs of the school and develop a bespoke programme of support. There is no obligation for schools to take part in further activities – this is a genuine offer of support.
We have planned an exciting Barnsley Sings project for Summer 2024 where we would like to invite all Primary Schools in Barnsley to take part. It’s such an exciting project, and we hope that you’d like to be part of it. All schools taking part will receive:
A full range of resources including word sheets, backing tracks and rehearsal tracks that children can sing along to at school. We will provide children and schools with access to a password protected area of our website to access these resources.
We will hold up to 3 days when this festival will happen, providing as many as 1500 children with this great opportunity to sing together here in Barnsley in a celebration for the town, and will really showcase the talent in our community. The days that we have provisionally booked are Monday 10th July, Tuesday 11th July and Wednesday 12th July 2024.
Whilst we are committed to supporting as many schools as possible, we have a limited number of places on the project that will be offered on a first come first served basis. Please click on the links below to access the letter to Headteachers and Principals for more information. We look forward to hearing from you.
